Located in Morgan County Illinois, Swain Farms Outfitting is dedicated to providing low pressure, quality hunts for each of our guests. By booking a maximum of only 3-5 archery hunters per week, we are ensuring that our guests receive the individual attention they deserve and expect in a guided hunt. Because of low lease prices and mortgage free family farms, we do not feel it’s necessary to run a ton of hunters through like most of the local Illinois outfitters. Morgan County, located in west central Illinois, has steadily been building a reputation for producing giant whitetails. Multiple world class deer have been harvested here in the recent years. As popular western Illinois counties get overhunted, we continue to produce bigger and bigger deer, as well as having an unpressured deer herd. With over fifty years of hunting experience, as well as seven years of guiding experience in Morgan County, we have proven that we know how to consistently deliver mature whitetails for our guests. Swain Farms Outfitting offers a wide variety of hunts. From hunting early or late season bucks on a feeding pattern, to the excitement of hunting rut-crazed bucks, we have a package to meet your needs. With our extensive food plot programs, we offer excellent 6.5 day early season archery hunts that are set at a very reasonable rate as well as 5.5 day late season hunts. Our rut hunt packages range in length from 6 to 6.5 days. We will also be offering a limited number of shotgun and late season muzzleloader hunts, as well as a combination bow/gun hunts where non-residents are allowed to harvest two bucks. All of the guided hunts include lodging, meals, game care, assistance with game recovery, and multiple pre-scouted stand setups for each wind direction. Guests will receive trail cam updates leading up to their hunt. You will also receive aerial maps of the farms to be hunted, well prior to your arrival to keep surprises at a minimum. Learn More |

In 2012, Swain Farms Outfitting will be operating on nearly 1500 acres. We are very selective when it comes to purchasing our hunting properties. All of our privately owned Illinois farms are trophy managed with a strict minimum antler requirement of 140” Pope and Young. Besides annually grown Illinois crops of soybeans, corn, and wheat, we also provide extra year round nutrition for our deer with a variety of seasonal food plots. Our food plots consist of clover, alfalfa, turnips, chicory and buck forage oats. We also leave standing corn and soybeans which are excellent late season food sources. During the previous hunting season, we ran approximately one trail camera per 40 acres of hunting ground. Trail camera technology has proven to be a great asset for us at Swain Farms Outfitting, by enabling us to predict more accurately big buck movements. We had multiple trail camera pictures of every buck harvested during the 2010 hunting season. As you can see in our gallery, our farms hold multiple world class whitetails.
